voice teachin'
Scooter helps me teach voice lessons on Wednesday and Thursday. Scooter likes all the students that come to see him, but he does not like it when they start singing and stop giving him the love. To remedy this dilemma, Scooter likes to climb up on the piano bench to scratch and sniff people until they give in to the power of Scooter. Scooter really knows how to work it...

hairs cut
Scooter got a hair cut. There is a new Petco in our area and so we went there. I think he liked it pretty good. Scooter also purchased a doggy car seat so that he would be able to see better out the window as he travels. We are going to take some special trips this week and will have lots of new pictures of Scooter on the go! Scooter likes travel.

mr. kat on a cold tin roof
This is Mr. Kat. Mr. Kat is me and Scooter's next door neighbor. Mr. Kat likes to come over and visit with Scooter. Scooter don't like it worth a darn. Scooter wants to eat Mr. Kat.

Below - Scooter looking at Mr. Kat resting in his little nest on top of the storage shed next door. Notice the layer(s) of confusion in Scooter's little eyes. Scooter thinks Mr. Kat might be a bird.

This letter released by the Toler family on Thursday Jan. 5, 2006 in Flatwoods, W. Va was written by Martin Toler Jr., who died with 11 other miners in the Sago mine. The note was given to Martin's brother, Tom Toler, by the coroner. It reads 'Tell all I see them on the other side JR I love you It wasn't bad just went to sleep' (AP Photo/Courtesy of the Toler Family, HO)

Panda Puppy
A dog named 'Columbo', a cross-breed between a poodle and a Maltese and dyed to look like a panda, sits on a chair in Tokyo November 30, 2005. The owner dyed the originally white coloured dog, with a special hair dye to cover up stains around its eyes which was conspicuous when he was first found abandoned. As a result, the panda look-alike became the most popular dog in the neighbourhood and the owner said he hopes Columbo's popularity will help rescue other abandoned dogs like Columbo, where in Tokyo last year, 700 of them were put to sleep.

made me cry again
Hurricane Katrina refugee Valerie Bennett, of Slidell, La., presses her face to her dog, Lady, after they were reunited at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005. She and her husband, Lorne, had to leave behind four of their pets when Lorne, a liver transplant patient, had to be evacuated in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, to a liver specialist for supervision. sinking sand
This set of images made available Friday, Sept. 2, 2005 by the U.S. Geological Survey shows the same area of the Chandeleur Islands, approximately 100 kilometers east of New Orleans, La. The top image, taken in July 2001, shows narrow sandy beaches and adjacent overwash sandflats, low vegetated dunes, and backbarrier marshes broken by ponds and channels. The bottom image shows the same location on August 31, 2005, two days after Hurricane Katrina made landfall on the Louisiana and Mississippi coastline. Storm surge and large waves from Hurricane Katrina submerged the islands, stripped sand from the beaches, and eroded large sections of the marsh. Today, few recognizable landforms are left on the Chandeleur Island chain. (AP Photo/USGS)
friends okay
finally heard from my friends
all of them
they are all safe
they are all lost
it is impossible to know what to do
many are not going back
the ones that are going back
are upset with the ones that are not
i am kind of a mess
i wish i could help
fix it
make it better
or at least easier
so many people
so much death
so many questions
the answers-
unthinkable
