Dark Rainy Day

This pic was taken around 8:30 in the morning. The sunrise here happens at about 6:52. It stormed all night and outside it looks like there is a huge tent up over our little town. Cindy hates when it rains. She has been sneezing and tapping her feet at me all morning which, in translation, means: "This is your fault; Make it stop - NOW." She always blames me for bad weather as if I left the water running too long or something. She thinks that I put all that rain out there just to make her life harder. Drama!!!
I love Cindy. She's nuts :)

As Good As It Gets...

I spend so much time outside. I love Spring. Every morning I wake up and find something new that the day before did not even exist. I have Lyme Disease and each day my health changes. I never know what I am going to get each morning. The thing I do know is that each day something lovely is happening out in my yard that is mine and, in a way, is just for me. What more can you ask for out of life? Before I got sick, I would never have really stopped to see this Viola. I guess we live and learn.
Where is Scooter?

Scooter stays with me at all times. I think that he is afraid that something life changing might happen and he will miss it, so just to be safe he sticks to me like glue. Even now he is laying on the floor beside my chair taking a nap with his stuffed Moo-Cow. Needless to say the Moo-Cow is not nearly as stuffed now as it was when Scooter got it.
Yesterday my sister came to see me and Scooter loved it. We went outside and he ran laps, as fast as he could, around the yard. He made huge figure eights around the flower beds and every once and a while let out a squeaky little yelp to let us know how hard he was working and that we should be watching. When we came back in, he felt like a furry little heating pad and collapsed on to my lap falling right to sleep. He was very proud of himself.

Contest - Done
I work at a High School where I teach young adults to sing. It's an adventure to say the least. This week we went to the UIL Concert and Sightreading Competition that every choir in the state of Texas goes to every year. We took two choirs, Varsity Girls and Varsity Mixed. Each choir prepares three songs to sing for three judges and then goes to a room to sightread a piece of music they have not seen for three more judges. Lots of trauma and drama. We work for months to get ready for this one day. It is really tough. All our choirs did well this year, but in truth, I am just thrilled that it is all over. REALLY - REALLY THRILLED. Below are a few pictures I took of the little darlings/heathens on the big day.
Ashleigh in Headlights

The sweet little girl in the front with her mouth open is Ashleigh. Ashleigh is as mean as the devil's butt is red. She is the student who always asks me, "Davy, why you gotta be handicrippled?" She has a big heart and an even bigger mouth. Much bigger. Actually, after I took this picture she said, "Davy, why you gonna make knock that crutch out from underneath you?" I guess she doesn't like to have her picture taken. Gotta love her :)
